The world observed the 38th World Environment Day (WED 2010) on 5 June with the theme of “Many Species. One Planet. One Future”. World Environment Day is similar to Earth Day. Rwanda has been selected by the United Nations Environment Program (UNEP) as the global host country for World Environment Day 2010. Rwanda is also known to have lasting WED legacy supports Solar Power Projects and Gorilla Conservation. Rwanda’s capital city Kigali is known as one of the cleanist cities in Africa.
It echoes the urgent call to conserve the diversity of life on our planet. A world without biodiversity is a very bleak prospect. Millions of people and millions of species all share the same planet, and only together can we enjoy a safer and more prosperous future.
