Been a non bikers who been watching ‘American Chopper‘ on discovery channel and Discovery Turbo showing the lives of New York natives Paul Teutul Sr., Paul Jr., and Mikey on Bike customization. Now, Brunei too has its own. Its QCB (Qlap Custom Bikes). I am indeed surprise to know that QCB was established in September 2007. Recently they organised a show from 16th to 19th at the open space at Yayasan Shopping Complex in the heart of the capital. The four-day exhibition was launched by Deputy Minister of Industry and Primary Resources Dato Paduka Hj Hamdillah Hj Abd Wahab.
It was a very hot Sunday noon on 19th Mar 2009 when I went there after had a chance to meet Louis Pang in person at Empire that early morning. Jan Shim was a special guest of Louis Pang who on the day of the “Shoot like a pro” workshop helped mentor the Canon participants.
Mass bike parked near to the show which is just next to Sultan Omar Ali Saifuddien Mosque (SOAS).
This QCB first Brunei Custombike Show is fully supported by Brunei Tourism and Kenali Negara Kitani (KNK).
The show did attract attention to many visitors including foreigners that day.
The main show of the day, bike with Car rim on the rear. Yes, you read it right, it is 18/40-250 Dunlop (Car Rim).
